Profound Technologies is a provider of advanced technical solutions that serve our customers’ needs for

confidence, actionable intelligence of threats in real-time.
Most entities in the security industry that claim to provide Artificial Intelligence, are in fact, not offering AI. The
“AI” offered by many in the security industry are under-achieving, low end CPU based plugins that are installed
on a VMS or camera. These low powered, relatively simple “models” are limited to matching a single
characteristic such as numbers (license plates) and limited classifications; they have no reasoning or learning
capability. In other words, they are not neurally networked.
WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE?
True AI contains the following three distinct intelligent characteristics:
• Discovery: Ability to find out new information.
• Inferencing / Differencing: Read in information from other sources.
• Reasoning: The ability to figure things out.
At Profound Technologies, our code utilizes the latest generation of AI machine learning algorithms and deep learning models. We put AI at the edge of security (physically positioning Nvidia AI processors) and deliver intelligence in real-time.
WHAT IS MACHINE LEARNING?
Learning using large amounts of additional data given to the models.
- Profound AI does this at the edge and in the cloud, continuously allowing the customer’s deployed models to learn from their own security environments as well as other deployments
How does Profound AI do this?
- Supervised learning: Utilizing human oversite / insight (labeling, annotation etc.).
- Unsupervised Learning: Learning things that are not explicitly stated.
- Neural Network: The top level of machine learning using data from multiple locations called nodes.
WHAT IS DEEP LEARNING? (Cloud or Central Servers)
Learning from large amounts of additional data given to the models, typically performed using massive servers at cloud / data centers. Profound’s deep learning models are constantly improving our AI intelligence and delivering newly learned behaviors to edge servers.
Learning:
- Multi-layer artificial neural networks (ANN’s).
- Nodes and statistical relationships between nodes to
model the way our minds work. - Expansive sets of nodes with knowledge from many
security and safety environments as well as other real-life
environments.
